David K. Setzer serves as the Executive Director for Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas, where he leads initiatives to provide locally designed, market-driven workforce development services for employers, community partners and job seekers in 14 counties. Mr. Setzer joined Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas in 2005 as the Operations Manager and in 2007 transitioned to his current role as Executive Director. Prior to joining Workforce Solutions, Mr. Setzer served as the Purchasing Agent for Ellis County and dedicated 30 years of exemplary service at SBC Communications, retiring in 2001 as the Director of Central Office Operations.
Outside of his professional roles, Mr. Setzer has actively engaged in civic life. He served as a City Council Member for the City of Midlothian from 1994-1999 and was elected Mayor of Midlothian in 1999, serving the city for six distinguished years.
In alignment with his professional pursuits, Mr. Setzer volunteers his time and unique skillsets to the Public Purchasing Association of North Central Texas, serving as a past president, and is on the Board of Directors of Texas CASA. He is also a past president of CASA of Ellis County.
Mr. Setzer is an enthusiast of all things aviation and is an active pilot. In 2017, he received the FAA’s Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50 years of safe flying and dedication to the field.
